What to Expect
Our services normally last just over an hour. We sing a mix of new and old, Psalms and hymns. The majority of our time is spent learning how God's Word impacts our lives. Dress tends to be business casual, but come as you are. Our evening service is similar in format but different in focus as we study another portion of God's Word. Following both morning and evening services, we enjoy a time of fellowship and conversation around a cup of coffee.
At Bethel, our vision is worship centered. Our task, therefore, is to:
Be Worshipers; Develop Worshipers and Seek Worshipers.
Gather for Worship.
Engage in Worship.
Grow in Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ
Grow in our Relationship with each other
Engage the Distant
Enfold the Visiting Believers
Equip the Inquiring Seekers
Bethel URC finds her identity in the Triune God and is organized in that identity as a Christian Church within the United Reformed Churches of North America. We adhere to the Word of God as our sole authority for life and doctrine and believe that this Word is faithfully summarized in the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession and the Canons of Dort. It is our goal to address the unchanging truth of God’s historic Word to the ever changing times in which we live. Having been called out of the world to belong to God, we go back into this world to love and serve our neighbor. Because the Bible teaches that the church of Jesus Christ has always been about worship, we seek to reveal our identity as the people of God, through a vision rooted in the worship of God.
Bethel church is shepherded by the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. He exercises His rule through the office of elder. He teaches His will, through the ministers of Word and Sacraments. And He expresses His compassion through the office of deacon.
